As for my favorites---
Chard is a favorite as well as spinach, kale, and broccoli. I prefer my veggies raw or lightly steamed or sauteed with brown rice or other whole grain seasoned with ginger, garlic, or other herbs and spices. Organic fruits (like blueberries, strawberries, and apples) and veggies (like carrots, potatoes, and onions)taste so much better than conventional ones. That's an important consideration with me. I clean or peel a bunch of carrots, celery, red pepper, cauliflower, or cuke and use any of them for snacking. In Health & Peace Nan

That is indeed simple but straight forward and logical advice to healthy eating. It seems so strange that it has become "hard" for people to follow this key, and yet even I find that I don't always want to do it. Sometimes the "other stuff" just seems to sound that much more enticing. But for me personally that is probably just because I much prefer fruit over vegetables, and I know even too much fruit can be not great for you. Vegetables are still essential.
What are your favorite fruit and vegetable choices that you like to have to keep yourself on track?

Happy, Healthy New Year, Sophie.

Excellent advice -- I'm so glad you revisited it on this first day of 2012. I think you should trademark that simple but powerful principle of healthy eating.

Beautiful photo -- it gives us another compelling reason to focus on vegetables and fruits: they look so fresh & colourful -- a garden on a plate.
